There's one thing Kitty's been actively working towards that's consumed (and has almost taken) her life: Defeating the Sentinels. She's been on the run from them with some of the other mutants, and they've finally found a way to fix it - send Wolverine back in time to change the past so the Sentinels were never created. The only problem is that she's not 100% sure it'll work. Especially when the connection with Wolverine slips, earning her an injury on her left side. At her current canon point, she's heard her friends dying and the Sentinels are right outside. The only way she'd agree to come would be an assurance that the past would be fixed and the Sentinels wiped out. A back-up plan should they fail.

Fit:

Kitty is a social creature by nature. She's always been outgoing and a little bit more of a tomboy than a girly girl. She's also got quite a mouth on her - a charming aspect to her personality that wasn't hardened while on the run. It would take a little adjustment once she arrives, but she has friends already here and making new ones wouldn't be difficult once she settled. Especially with the motivation of knowing the one huge issue hanging over her would be taken care of - she'd actually get to relax and enjoy life again. She's never had an issue making contact with others, unlike Rogue. With her powers she's always had to touch people in order to be able to bring them with her. So, the human connection element of this wouldn't be difficult for her - in fact, quite the opposite.

► Meet & Greet: Inside

[Kitty was doing this for the good of the entire world. It's not that she didn't have faith in her team, but if there was a chance she could find a permanent solution to save her home and get rid of the Sentinels once and for all? She'd be a fool not to take it.

Of course, a lot of things sounded good in theory.

She'd spent so long on the run attempting to avoid detection that it's difficult to integrate herself into the revelry. She has to make this work, though, and that means making an effort. Taking a steadying breath, she brushes her hair out of her face and makes her way over to the nearest person.]

I didn't expect there to be so much food.

[Smooth.]

► Meet & Greet: Outside

[The sheer amount of people is overwhelming and despite the strong temptation to stuff her face with all the free food, she takes a few moments to steal away to the garden - a reward for actually attempting to socialize. Favoring her left side, she slowly makes her way out to the garden for a breath of fresh air. Kitty had been cautious about openly using her powers, but it'd been what felt like forever since she'd been around flowers. Add on top of that the chance to use them without the added pressure of lives hanging the balance and it's hard to resist.

If anyone looks closely, they might see her right hand phasing through the rose she'd picked as she aimlessly wanders.]

It's warm, the first thing she notices, the ground beneath her soft. Keeping her eyes closed, she runs her fingers through the grass, a light smile forming on her lips. The expression feels foreign and unforced. She didn't have to work to bring it out, the normal weight that rested on her gone. She takes another breath, building up the courage to open her eyes... It felt so real. The smells of lavender, fresh earth, and the slightest hint of mint hit her, making the smile grow. Her eyes flutter open, only to squint as the sun momentarily blinds her.

After taking another moment, she slowly begins to sit up, taking in the world around her. It's amazing, unlike anything she's ever seen. The colors of the hills around her are a vibrant green, peppered with purples and whites. Pushing herself to her feet, she moves towards one of the patches of flowers, running her fingers fondly over the petals. She could stay in her own personal paradise forever, but another sound draws her attention - the sound of laughter.

It takes her a moment to pinpoint it, just beyond the trees. She moves towards it, the pure joy calling to her like an old companion. She stops just before the trees, able to see everyone she's been travelling with - her team, her friends. She laughs as they spot her, Bobby waving her over to join them. It's a sight, their postures relaxed as they lounge - as if they haven't a care in the world. She lets her guard slip for just a moment, falling back into her old self - how she was before it all fell apart. She moves towards them, her pace picking up with each step until she's almost to the edge of the tree line, almost to them.

That's when it happens. Sentinels. Pouring out of the trees. It's too fast for her to do anything about it, only able to watch helplessly as everyone dies before her - no chance to fight back. She can feel herself screaming, her throat going raw, but all she can hear are the sounds of pain and death. She's not sure when her knees give out, the feeling of the grass no longer a warm, inviting comfort. She grips at the green blades as the Sentinels round on her, flames quickly engulfing her - her feet rooted in place by ice.

She shoots up in the soft bed, something that she was still having a hard time acclimating to after months of sleeping on the floor. She gasps for air as everything comes into focus, her eyes adjusting to the darkness around her. She doesn't hear anyone enter the room or the rumble of a voice, just the sensation of slowly starting to level out as she's pulled against something warm and solid that rises and falls evenly. She mimics that, her breath finally returning to her, the pounding subsiding. She relaxes against the presence behind her, letting out a shaky breath as she attempts to pull herself together.

"Sorry. I'm so sorry."

It was a nightmare, just a nightmare. They were all... alive - they were alive and it was going to be okay. It was enough for her right now - take comfort in the fact that the world would be changed, that there was a plan in place to secure her future and everyone else's. A contingency should she fail. This would all be over when she returned home, no more persecution - no more death and destruction. At least that was her hope.

ABILITIES:

Phasing/Intangibility -

Kitty can pass through solid objects as well as allow objects to pass through her without causing her any harm. She can also quickly shift between being tangible and intangible, able to use the phasing abilities to her advantage against an opponent in a fight. In order to phase, she passes her atoms between the object’s atoms. She is also capable of bringing another person through with her, as long as she is maintaining contact.

Chronoskimming -

A development of her phasing powers is being able to send someone’s consciousness back or forward in time into their younger/older self, or into a close ancestor/descendant. The longer the process is, harder it is not only on her, but the other person. She can't send someone back more than a month due to the damage the power does to their brain, opting for usually sending someone back only a few days. The primary person she normally sends back is Bishop in order to warn the others. The only one able to go back further is Wolverine due to his healing abilities, but it’s extremely painful.

Injury:

Since at her canon point, she's been cut by Wolverine - I'd like to bring her in with the injury. I saw in the FAQs that it's at player discretion but I figured I'd chuck it in here as well just to double check. I would like for it to be mostly healed since it was life threatening. And then she can have a kick ass scar to show off.
